Sarah’s Sisters

We live in an area where, statistically, many couples are of childbearing years.  The median age in Desoto County is 36.7 years and in Hernando it is 35.  In our country one in eight couples are struggling with infertility; this equates to approximately 6.7 million individuals. Additionally, one in four pregnancies ends in miscarriage. Because this is a topic that is not broadly spoken about, this validates the great need for ministering to many who are suffering in silence.  Galatians 6 calls us to bear one another’s burdens.

This life season can be a difficult time and  while we do not have many answers, we know God does!  Some goals of this group include:

  • bringing awareness to the challenges faced by couples trying to conceive  (Philippians 2:4)
  • supporting couples engaged in the adoption process (Psalm 68:5  James 1:27)
  • listening with genuine concern  (Proverbs 2:2)
  • encouraging and helping one another through faith and hope in Christ  (Romans 12:8)
  • walking alongside each other during trials and celebrations (Romans 12:15  I Cor. 12:26)
  • uplifting women in personalized prayers (Philippians 4:6-7  I Samuel 1:27  I Thes. 5:17)
  • being transparent and open with our testimonies ( II Cor. 1:12)
  • providing applicable scriptures to spur one another forward (Colossians 3:16  Hebrews 10: 24-25)

If you are a woman in this season of grief or a woman who is willing to share about your journey through infertility and/or adoption, please join us. If you know someone who could benefit from the group please invite them.  This ministry is open to the community, all are welcome.

“My husband and I started our infertility journey December of 2018 where a headache visit lead to a year and a half long journey of eight procedures, three exploratory exams, a one major surgery. We still find ourselves in the middle of our journey to parenthood but our hearts have been truly blessed through Sarah’s Sisters. While God has grown us in our marriage, every woman deals with barreness and loss in a personal, deep way. Sarah’s Sister has helped surround me with like minded women who choose to focus on the Blesser rather than the blessings or future blessings. We have also been able to use our experience to help others with the lessons God has taught us which helps give our pain a purpose. No matter the stage of your infertility, if you allow God to use your story, your pain will be used to further His Kingdom which is our ultimate purpose.”

“The group Sarah’s Sisters has been such an encouragement to me in dealing with infertility.  It was so nice to know I wasn’t alone and had other ladies who were experiencing some of the same heartaches I was.  I am now 14 weeks pregnant and they are still such an encouragement to me and praying for me along this next chapter in life.”

“Infertility is really hard and sometimes you feel alone. I am so thankful for our group, Sarah’s Sisters, where I am able to connect with other believers going through many of the same struggles. Encouragement, celebration and prayers abound in this sweet group of women.”
