Mission

As a ministry of Longview Point Baptist Church, Point Day School (PDS) provides exceptional, loving care and age-appropriate educational experiences in a faith-based ministry environment. PDS wants to partner with parents in their responsibility to provide a  spiritual foundation that gives children a secure love, a  desire to learn about Christ, and the ability to lead  others to Him.

“Equip you with everything that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing…”

Hebrews 13:21a

Our Programs

Infants & Toddlers

Newborns – 1 year olds

Tuesdays & Thursdays
9AM – 2PM

PDS provides a safe and nurturing environment for your child to grow and explore God’s world around them. Our teachers spend quality time interacting with your child, talking with them and introducing them to new experiences as appropriate. For infants who cannot move about the room, teachers frequently move your infant around and provide a variety of available toys. Infants are given “tummy time” to help them develop large motor skills for rolling over and crawling. Age appropriate toys are made available for crawlers and 1 year olds. Books and music are used to help develop language and vocabulary skills. Play based age appropriate activities are used to enhance small and large motor skills.

Preschool

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays
9AM – 2PM

2K

The second year of your child’s growth contains many significant developmental milestones. Our two year old program emphasizes age appropriate learning activities focusing on emerging skills such as vocabulary and language. It also introduces more structured learning activities.

3K – 4K

It is our belief that your child learns by doing. Understanding that a child will use every aspect of their senses and bodies to learn about their world, whole-child and sensory approaches are practiced. Our teachers seek to utilize hands-on approaches in instruction to make the children’s environment child-oriented. We do this through instructional activities, games, art activities, songs, and in-house field trips. Our learners are active participants, interacting with both adults and their peers through learning experience.

Elementary

Kindergarten – 5th Grade

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays

9AM – 2PM

Point Day School Elementary Program is a hybrid school. We are here to work alongside parents to teach God’s truth and principles, and to provide the best educational opportunity for your children. Students attend class on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Our curriculum includes biblically integrated, grade-level materials from BJU Press and The Biggest Story Bible curriculum. The curriculum builds on foundations beginning in kindergarten and continues through 5th grade. Students also participate in weekly Chapel, PE, and Music.

Students complete assignments in class throughout the week and are given assignments to complete with the assistance of parents on Fridays and Mondays. This serves as a vital component to the academic success of our students. It allows the parents the opportunity to participate in the learning process and see what is being taught in class.

We recognize that each child is unique and special. During in-person instruction time, students are expected to participate in activities and group learning. At home, parents have the freedom to tailor lessons, activities, and homework to meet their child’s unique learning needs. If a student needs additional practice or reinforcement, our instructors and academic director are happy to partner with you to provide additional resources. However, Point Day School might not be the best fit for every child. We do not offer special assistance or paraprofessional  support for students who have significant behavior or learning challenges.
