Missions at the Point

Welcome! Our mission at The Point is to Expand His Kingdom Across the Street and Around the World! We seek to fulfill that mission by local and community outreach, short-term national, and international missions projects. We want to be a church that sends people out to share the Gospel amongst all peoples. 


Below you will find a list of the mission projects we have scheduled for 2016. If you would like more information on any of these trips, please contact our church office at 662.449.1044.  If you are interested in participating in one of our mission projects, please download and complete the application below. 2017 National mission projects

Mercy Hill Church, Olive Branch, MS

  • Ongoing opportunities to work at serve as they prepare to launch this fall. Visit mercyhillob.org for more information.


Cup of Nations

  • April 22
  • Cup of Nations is a soccer tournament hosted by World Relief to reach out to immigrants in the Memphis area. Longview Point will have the opportunity to cheer one of the teams on as they compete. This is a great family missions experience as we engage the nations among us. Contact Pastor Jason at jason@longviewpoint.org for more information.


Sioux City, Iowa

  • Tentative Dates: Spring
  • Estimated Cost: TBD
  • Mission: We will help Redemption Hill Church with city-wide outreach events.


Belle Fourche, South Dakota

  • June 15 - 23
  • Estimated Cost: $300
  • Mission: This team will assist Connection Church Belle Fourche as they host their first sports camp for kids.


Red Lodge, Montana

  • Tentative Dates: June 28 - July 6
  • Estimated Cost: TBD
  • Mission: We will be working with Church of the Rockies in Red Lodge, MT. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to go on a mission trip as the team serves the community in their annual 3 day rodeo.

2017 International mission projects

Middle East

  • Tentative Dates: March 31 - April 9
  • Mission: Pray for this team as they work with IMB missionaries and a local church to minister to refugees in a hurting area. The team will seek to minister to physical needs, while sharing the Good News of Jesus.


South Asia

  • Tentative Dates: Multiple Opportunities
  • Estimated Cost: $2500 per person, per trip
  • Mission: We will be working with a group of national believers to provide training and equipping in church planting and kingdom expansion. We are committing as a church to partner with this specific region of South Asia and sending 3-4 teams a year to this remote area. This team has a four person maximum. All participants will be required to complete 4 Fields Training.


Osaka, Japan

  • Tentative Dates: Summer
  • Estimated Cost: $2000 per person, per trip
  • Mission: We will be participating in outreach and mission work with IMB missionaries focused on church planting in the Kansai region of Japan. This team has a six person maximum.


Uganda

  • Dates: July 12 - 24
  • Pray for this team as they continue discipleship with the men and women and follow up on training from the previous trips. Leadership training as the nationals are challenged to reach their people and beyond is the primary goal.


Belgium

  • Tentative Dates: Fall
  • Estimated Cost: TBD
  • This team will be working in Namur, Belgium with new IMB personnel who are focused on the French speaking Belgian population through community outreach and ministry.
